A quick reference for the documents we most commonly ask customers to provide, so you know what to have on hand before you start.
Not every order needs every document below, your specialist will tell you exactly what's required for your state and vehicle type once your order is placed.
Proving You Own the Vehicle
Bill of Sale
A signed bill of sale from a private party or dealer showing the sale details for your vehicle.
Existing Ownership Documents
Any title, MSO/MCO, or transferable registration you already have on hand for the vehicle.
Lien Release
If your vehicle had a loan against it, a lien release confirms the debt is paid and cleared.
Confirming It's Really You
Proof of Your Identity
A photo of your ID, passport, or driver's license.
Proof of Your SSN
A photo of your Social Security card, W-2, or 1098/1099 showing your SSN.
Power of Attorney
Signs off on our ability to submit and correct paperwork with the DMV as your authorized representative.
Signed DMV Forms
Certain state forms need to be printed, signed in pen, and scanned back to us.
Verifying the Vehicle Itself
Photo of VIN
A clear photo of the vehicle identification number, plus photos of each side of the vehicle.
VIN Inspection Form
Required in some states, a certified inspector confirms the VIN matches your paperwork.
Photo of Odometer
A current odometer reading for odometer disclosure requirements.
Unladen Vehicle Weight (UVW)
Required for RVs and trailers, proof of the vehicle's weight when empty.
Sales Tax & Lienholder Information
Proof of Sales Tax Paid
A DMV or dealer receipt showing sales tax was already paid, if applicable.
Lienholder Account Number
If your vehicle is currently financed, we'll need your lienholder's account number on file.
